Unfortunately for Rochdale rugby fans, both the Hornets and Mayfield matches are on 12 Feb, 14.30 and 14.00, respectively.

Hornets' match is also on "The Sportsman's" You Tube channel.  The weather looks fair.

‘’Rochdale's former Man of Steel Rangi Chase is the first rugby league player to undergo a UK Anti-Doping 'Substance of Abuse' treatment programme and receive a reduced one-month ban.

The 35-year-old has now served the ban, which was triggered by traces of benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in a test last September.”

Let’s hope Hornets can now be rewarded fully from his undoubted rugby talent.

Well a 'gritty' (or similar!) 28-12 Hornets win in horrible conditions and frankly, at times, matching plays. Lock Lane really took the game to Hornets on many occasions, but their main downfall was discipline - finishing, I think, with 11 men.

Still, we've got Barrow at home next round, for which a much improved performance will be essential.

sounds like a solid performance that avoided a banana skin.

Anyone at the Mayfield game? From the score looks like they put in a decent show. Hope they made a bit of money from the day.

The report on the Doncaster site gives something of a false impression of the game. Doncaster looked a very average semi professional side. Mayfield matched them in all departments except getting over the try line. They will not be going far in the next round on that performance.
