WRITTEN BY NICOLAS · SEPTEMBER 20, 2022

Julien Rascagnères, a former international referee, died this Monday at the age of 77 at his home in Cabestany.

First a player and then a coach, it was as a referee that he had most marked his minds. His legendary charisma and his way of arbitrating such singular encounters have marked a generation. Julien Rascagnères refereed several English championship games but also leading international matches such as a Great Britain - Australia in 1982 with more than 40,000 people in the stadium. The entire Treize Mondial team offers its condolences to his family and loved ones.

I remember him well. He was a very good referee.
