Awakening Rugby League in the City (ARC) will see the creation of a pathway for talented athletes who may never have considered playing Rugby League an opportunity to experience the game for the first time in a supported environment.

The RFL will use the awarded funds to work alongside Salford Red Devils and Swinton Lions to deliver ARC within Manchester and Bradford Bulls and Community Lions Foundation in West Yorkshire.

Good stuff. If it had the money this is the kind of stuff the sport should be doing nationwide.

This a great initiative. I’ve always thought RL should look to athletes in other sports that might not quite make the grade and maybe be better suited to RL.

If this takes off and is repeated in other cities then a big talent pool could be opened up
