ZANE HARRISON’S 80th-minute field-goal clinched the Titans’ first win over the Panthers since 2019.

The rookie halfback, playing just his sixth first-grade game, assisted Phillip Sami for what appeared to be the match-winning try before Lindsay Smith squared things up. 

But after spraying one attempt, Harrison nailed a last-gasp field goal to hand Penrith just their second loss of 2026. 

Origin took a toll on both team sheets, with the Titans losing captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and the Panthers minus Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Brian To’o. 

The hosts also lost Cooper Bai to a head-injury assessment early then Jensen Taumoepeau to a leg injury late. 

Donning a heritage uniform harking back to the Gold Coast Chargers of the 1990s, the Titans made a slow start as Liam Martin and Luke Garner scored in the opening 13 minutes. 

But Kurtis Morrin’s barn-storming try got Gold Coast on the board midway through the second half. 

And it took until the 64th minute for Arama Hau to notch the next points. 

Then at 12-all, Harrison speared a two-man cut-out to Phillip Sami for the go-ahead try in the left corner. 

Smith finished a razzle-dazzle team try and Alamoti booted the conversion to level it 18-apiece. 

But with 20 seconds remaining, Harrison became the hero.
