Leeds Rhinos winger Tom Briscoe has described his wing partner Ryan Hall as “incredible” – after his two-try performance in Saturday’s Challenge Cup final earned him the Lance Todd Trophy.
Hall lit up Wembley with a sensational brace of individual tries during Leeds’ 23-10 victory against Castleford on Saturday, and Briscoe insists nobody deserved the man of the match award more than Hall.
“He’s just incredible,” Briscoe said. “I think he’s the only guy who could score that from 10 metres out with three people on his back.
“Full credit to Ryan, and I thought he was a very deserved man of the match when it came to the crunch.”
Briscoe also admitted that although they never took Castleford for granted, the Rhinos always felt in control of their destiny – even when the Tigers pulled the score back to 16-10.
“I think we were confident all the way through, but we never underestimated them. Coming out at half-time, we knew they were going to throw everything at us to try and lift the trophy at full-time.
“But I thought we really dug in and fired back at them – and obviously got the job done.”
