Leeds Rhinos prop Ryan Bailey insists Brian McDermott is the best coach he has ever worked with, and says he is the boss that has got the best out of him in his carer.
Bailey admits he is a “hard bloke to work with” at times, and says that McDermott seems to understand him more than any other coach he’s worked with during his time at the Rhinos – as well as paying tribute to him for masterminding Leeds’ incredible Challenge Cup victory on Saturday.
“The boys at the end went straight to Mac to slap him on the back and handshake him,” Bailey said.
“He gets the best out of the players. He is a great coach – he has had the right gameplan straight through the Challenge Cup and we have stuck to it perfectly.
“He’s my best coach; he always gets the best out of me. He understands me the most out of all the coaches I have had. I am a hard bloke to work with sometimes, but he’s great and he gets the best out of me.”
