Hull KR ‘need to be smarter’ says Willie Peters

WILLIE PETERS was impressed by Leeds Rhinos in their 38-8 victory over his Hull KR.

And he knows the Robins need to be much better than they were at AMT Headingley.

Peters said: “We had to handle some adversity at the beginning with two front-rowers coming off (Dean Hadley and Tom Amone clashed heads).

“I was proud with the way we played for parts of the game – it was a great start and there was some fight in us – but you can’t make 13 or 14 errors, have 35 percent possession and 59 percent completion. Eventually that took its toll.

“Our start to the second half wasn’t good, partly because we were chasing the score against a very good team.

“We couldn’t get down the field often enough, partly down to the opposition but also ourselves – we’re shooting ourselves in the foot. We need to be smarter and get back to going set-for-set.

“Leeds seem to have everything.”
