RYAN CARR lamented Castleford Tigers’ “schoolboy” errors after suffering a shock 20-14 defeat to York Knights.
York claimed only their fourth Super League win of the season and their first on the road since February after stunning the in-form Tigers who had won three of their last five.
Having led 10-6 at the break, the Tigers produced a multitude of errors to allow York back into the contest and despite a late fight, never recovered from such a poor start to the second half.
“I’m disappointed by the fundamentals in our game,” said Tigers head coach Carr.
“I thought our effort was great and our attitude was unreal. We just got schoolboy stuff wrong tonight, in the second half in particular.
“We fought really hard and I was really proud of their effort but you’re not going to win games at this level with that sort of behaviour.
“In the second half, all we did was tackle on our tryline. You don’t deserve to win when you come up with some of the errors that we came up with tonight.
“The players are disappointed and they understand that the things we got wrong tonight aren’t rocket science.”
