Hull KR new signing heads out on season-long loan to Widnes Vikings

HULL KR’S new signing Jumah Sambou has joined Widnes Vikings on a season-long loan.

Sambou joined the Robins ahead of 2026, having made the switch to Super League following a spell with Oldham in the Championship and League One.

The Vikings will be able to keep Sambou on loan for the whole season without the possibility of him being recalled due to Rovers not including a callback option.

Samou could make his Widnes debut for Sunday’s home opener against North Wales Crusaders at the DCBL Stadium.

Widnes head coach Allan Coleman said: “It’s fantastic to get Jumah in. I think everyone will have seen last year before his injury, he was one of the best centres in the Championship and rightfully earned his move to Hull KR.

“He adds real power and agility to our backline, which gives us some really strong options. To get him for the full season is massive for us.”
