Hunslet take second Castleford Tigers player on loan

HUNSLET have added hooker Aiden Doolan to their ranks, bringing the 22-year-old in on loan from Castleford Tigers for the rest of the season, although the Super League side have a recall clause.

He joins Castleford colleague Sam Grice, a 19-year-old secondrow, in south Leeds, while Hunslet also have seasoned Doncaster forward Jordan Baldwinson for the remainder of this year.

Grice made his Hunslet debut in their 40-14 defeat at Workington Town.

Doolan joined Castleford on a two-year deal in November and has played three times for them.

Earlier this term he turned out in five games on loan to Barrow Raiders, for whom he figured on ten occasions last season, catching Castleford’s eye.

Doolan had time in the development ranks of both hometown club Widnes Vikings and Warrington Wolves, and earned a professional contract with the latter but didn’t make the first team (he had one loan appearance for North Wales Crusaders).

He spent 2024 in Australia in the South Sydney Rabbitohs system, and on his return, had a trial at Huddersfield Giants and played twice for Widnes before signing for Barrow.
