CASTLEFORD TIGERS were rocked by a spate of new injuries following the 52-14 loss to Wakefield Trinity on Friday.

The Tigers lost Semi Valemei with a torn hamstring before the game, whilst George Lawler had a groin problem.

During the heavy defeat, Ashton Golding also tore his hamstring, whilst Wakefield captain Mike McMeeken left the field early with a back injury.

It may also have been a costly night for St Helens, who lost George Delaney (shoulder), Jed Cartwright (quad) and Matty Evans (head) in the 38-16 defeat at Wigan Warriors.

Huddersfield Giants will be without Niall Evalds for Thursday’s bottom-of-the-table clash with Hull FC, as he failed an HIA in Saturday’s 24-22 win at York Knights.

Leigh Leopards secured a 28-12 win over Warrington Wolves on Saturday evening, but they lost Edwin Ipape to a failed HIA as well as Frankie Halton to a pec injury.

Warrington lost Kelepi Tanginoa to a knee injury in the warm-up, then his replacement James Bentley failed an HIA.

That injury to Halton could see the Leopards’ back-rower out for the rest of the Super League season.

Toulouse Olympique lost their star man Olly Ashall-Bott to a thigh injury during their 18-16 loss to Catalans Dragons on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Leeds Rhinos will be ruing the loss of star winger Maika Sivo, who suffered a suspected broken forearm in the 42-12 win over Bradford Bulls on Sunday.

Leeds also saw Ben Littlewood come off with a hamstring injury.

For Bradford, Jayden Nikorima (shoulder), Phoenix Steinwede (back and hamstring) and Jack Ormondroyd (ankle) all suffered blows during that game, too.
