Jimmy Keinhorst loaned to Wildcats

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats hope to finalise a deal to bring Leeds’ centre Jimmy Keinhorst to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium this week.

It is understood the 23-year-old German international, who played his fourth first-grade game in the Rhinos’ 35-18 defeat by Warrington at Wembley in 2012, will join the Wildcats on a season-long loan with no recall.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats are still awaiting the arrival of their three overseas signings. With Wakefield due to play their first pre-season warm-up this Sunday at Featherstone, forwards Scott Anderson and Matt Ryan, and Samoa halfback Pita Godinet still await visa clearance.

“We are sat waiting and hoping they get over the line as quickly as possible, although we don’t anticipate too many problems,“ coach Richard Agar told League Express.

“The reality is we signed the players late, it’s been the holiday period, and we are in the system. We are really happy with the signings we have made, and we just need them to arrive as soon as a possible.

“We need to get everybody here or the pre-season is going to run away from us. But the rest of the boys are going alright.”

The Wildcats are due to head to a three-day training camp in north Wales on 15 January.
