Joe Law next to swap York Knights for Newcastle Thunder

JOE LAW has joined the contingent swapping York Knights for Newcastle Thunder, signing a one-year deal.

Forwards Bailey Antrobus and Sam Cook have also moved between the clubs, who are developing a close partnership.

Former Wakefield Trinity centre Law played 18 times in two years with York, including eight Championship games last season as they won the League Leaders’ Shield.

“Joe’s experience, versatility and commitment are major assets both on and off the field,” said Newcastle head coach Graham Steadman of the 21-year-old.

“He’s a young man with a good attitude and the experience of playing in the north east will stand him in good stead. I am excited to have him in Thunder colours next season.”

Newcastle, who haven’t won a match since 2023, have also signed former Hull KR prop Leo Tennison.
