England and Wigan winger Josh Charnley says he is desperate to return to Wembley this season, and claims the Warriors do not see the Challenge Cup as a secondary competition.
In his regular column on the Manchester Evening News website, the 22-year-old said: “Call me greedy if you like but I am desperate to return there [Wembley] with Wigan this season.
“It really is a unique place. To go there and win is the kind of thing you dream about. Experiencing this kind of occasion really is also very special. Winning the Challenge Cup at Wembley is still very high up on the list of priorities for any player.
“We at Wigan will certainly never ever view it as a secondary competition. It is a great competition that is steeped in tradition.”
Finally, Charnley hinted that Wigan are set to start firing on all cylinders, after a slow start: “We are really starting to gel,” he said. “I am also feeling good again after a bit of a low-key start to the season.”
