Kevin Brown to Cronulla Sharks back on, say reports

Widnes Vikings playmaker Kevin Brown is set to join NRL side Cronulla Sharks in the coming weeks, according to reports in Australia.

The 30-year-old refuted claims he was set to join the south Sydney club last month, but rumours are again circulating that the St Helens-born stand-off is the Sharks’ number one target to replace Todd Carney, who was kicked out of the NRL last season and has since moved to Catalan Dragons.

Rugby League Week, one of Australia’s most reputable and popular Rugby League publications, is running a story in its latest issue claiming a deal is close to being completed.

It’s hard to know how much you can trust such rumours – and only when he is pictured signing on the dotted line will we believe it – but what if it is true? How would Brown cope in the NRL? Is he good enough to thrive down under? Or has he left it too late? Let us know by joining the debate on social media or through our free fans’ forum.
