KRUISE LEEMING is eyeing up silverware with Huddersfield Giants after returning to the club on a three-year deal from 2027.
He is the latest of a number of incomings and retentions for the Giants, who play their final match at the ACCU Stadium against Castleford Tigers on Saturday.
The club have tied down Harry Rushton and Adam Swift as well as announcing the signings of Gold Coast Titans’ Jaimin Jolliffe, and young hooker Jeylan Hodgson after a standout season at Goole Vikings.
Leeming’s return to Huddersfield is something of a full-circle moment, with the 30-year-old having made his breakthrough with the club as a teenager.
He went on to feature over 100 times for the Giants before joining Leeds Rhinos, where he won a Challenge Cup and was named in the Super League Dream Team.
After leaving Headingley for Wigan Warriors, Leeming was a regular in the 2024 all-conquering squad, but has spent the 2026 campaign on loan at Catalans Dragons in a move that saw Oliver Partington go the other way.
“It feels like a new adventure,” enthused the hooker, who will reunite with head coach Jim Lenihan after the pair’s brief stint together at the Titans.
“I was a different player back then. The whole team is different.
“It’s exciting for me to go back to Huddersfield. I want to win something at the club that gave me the chance to start my career as a professional.
“It would be the biggest achievement of my career.
“The club has had a great end to the season and it’s crucial to carry that on into 2027, which is a really exciting year for the club.”
Director of rugby Andy Kelly believes Leeming, who adds to Hodgson and Zac Woolford as options at nine, will bring vital leadership to the Giants.
“He’s proven himself in Super League with Wigan and Catalans,” explained Kelly.
“Watching him in recent weeks, including his appearance at the ACCU Stadium (last month when Huddersfield beat Catalans 40-20), he’s been one of Catalans’ standout players, and changes the game when he comes onto the field.
“What Kruise brings is, not just the guile that goes with a hooker, and that includes his running game, but he brings leadership qualities that we’ll need going into the next couple of seasons.”
