Lachlan Fitzgibbon finds new club following Warrington Wolves release

LACHLAN FITZGIBBON has returned to his roots following his early exit from Warrington Wolves.

The 32-year-old has penned a deal to join his former junior club South Newcastle Lions in the Newcastle Rugby League.

The Lions last won a title in 2018, and Fitzgibbon will hoping to add his experience to steer them to a 12th league triumph.

Fitzgibbon joined Warrington ahead of the 2024 season and went on to play in 41 games for the Wolves.

However, following a difficult second campaign, the second-rower left with still one year remaining on his contract.

Fitzgibbon had played his entire career for Newcastle Knights in the NRL before moving to the northern hemisphere, registering 32 tries in 119 appearances for the Hunter club.
