Larroyer looking at retirement after Hull KR exit

Free agent Kevin Larroyer is on the lookout for a new club, after being put in a “critical situation” after his release from Hull Kingston Rovers.

The French international was let go by the club after their relegation, despite having two years of his contract left to run.

In an exclusive piece with league Express, Larroyer admitted that he felt the club hadn’t been honest with him.

“I was asking people at the club whether I still had a future there. I was told I definitely had a future, so wasn’t worried.

“I then had a later meeting (following relegation) and was told there was no space for me. I feel like, at some stage in the year, they haven’t been really honest with me.

“It is not like I was coming to the end of a deal, so I planned my future on the two years I had left on my contract. I bought a house and saved some money for life after rugby.

“But this now puts me and my family in a critical situation because the protection I had with the contract has gone.”
