League Express columnist supports Jones appeal

League Express columnist and Great Britain legend Garry Schofield will be the star guest at tomorrow evening’s Danny Jones Defibrillator Fundraiser.

The Great Britain Legend and Golden Boot winner will host a Q&A session, offer his views on the modern game and share some tales from a glittering playing career for club and country.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, is being held in the newly refurbished Amber Ribbon Bar at The Tetley’s Stadium, Dewsbury, and will also feature live music, buffet food and a memorabilia auction.

Every penny raised will go to the Danny Jones Defibrillator appeal, set by Danny’s wife Lizzie.

The event has been organised by The Amber Ribbon, who have previously made financial donations to support Dewsbury Rams players affected by illness, injury and other difficulties.

Chairman of The Amber Ribbon, Charlie Coates, said: “Tickets for this event are going fast but there are still a few remaining.

“If you’d like to join us then you will be made to feel extremely welcome, regardless of your club allegiances. Tickets will be available on the door priced at just £5.

“We cannot imagine a more worthy cause than this. We are proud to support it and hope Rugby League fans from all clubs will too.”
