London Broncos to loan Wigan prop James Greenwood

Young Wigan prop James Greenwood will spend the 2014 Super League season on loan at London Broncos.

The 22-year-old made his first-team debut in 2013 but spent the majority of the season on dual-registration at South Wales Scorpions. In two seasons with the Welsh outfit he made 25 appearances and scored 11 tries.

Wigan coach Shaun Wane, pictured, said: “This is a great opportunity for James to gain some experience at the highest level.

“It will give him the chance to play regularly in Super League with London and it will also offer him some stability off the field knowing he is with the Broncos for the whole year.

“This agreement for the 2014 campaign works well for both parties, the Broncos will get a determined young player who is keen to impress and he will come back to us in 2015 hopefully an even better player.”

Broncos Head Coach Tony Rea said: “We are excited to welcome James to the capital. He is a powerful player who has developed a real presence on the field. It is a terrific move for all concerned.”
