Mounis and Casty named Catalans co-captains

Greg Mounis and Rémi Casty will captain Catalans Dragons together in 2015, having been appointed as co-captains of the club.

The French prop was the club captain in 2012 and 2013 before heading to Australia with the Sydney Roosters last year, and has now returned to take up a joint role alongside his fellow forward.

Greg Mounis will start his tenth season with the Catalans Dragons, his fifth as co-captain. He is the first player to have surpassed 200 Super League appearances with the Catalans Dragons.

Catalans Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “It was not a hard decision for me, Rémi and Greg were an obvious choice to everyone in this role.”

“Both are natural leaders and are highly respected players within our group.

“They are an example on and off the field.

“They will be heavily supported by a number of other senior players who show great leadership.”
