NEWCASTLE THUNDER have signed up yet another player from close partners York Knights by adding Myles Harrison to their squad.
Harrison, a 22-year-old centre or winger, played two matches for Newcastle on dual-registration last season.
He played 48 times for hometown club York, his best of five seasons coming in 2023 when he scored 10 tries in 24 games.
But after an injury-disrupted year was followed by just three appearances for the Super League-bound Knights last term, Harrison becomes the seventh player to head north to Newcastle.
Bailey Antrobus, Sam Cook, Joe Law, Jude Ferreira, Brad Ward and Harvey Reynolds have also moved between the two clubs.
Graham Steadman, who swapped roles with Chris Thorman – now a York assistant coach – in becoming Thunder’s head coach last June, believes Harrison will be a good fit.
“His ability to cover multiple positions out wide provides us with added flexibility, while his attacking instincts and work ethic align closely with the club’s ambitions moving into the 2026 campaign,” said Steadman.
“Despite still being early in his career, he has shown maturity and resilience, qualities that will be key across a demanding season.
“Myles was with us for a couple of games last season, so he knows the environment and knows what we are aiming to achieve in the north east.”
