North Wales sign five ahead of transfer deadline day

North Wales Crusaders have added significant depth to their squad by signing five players before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Ahead of the League 1 Shield, Anthony Murray has brought in two players on permanent deals and three on loan. Matthew Bradley has made the switch following his release from Championship club Swinton Lions – he will provide competition for Jack Hansen, Andy Moulsdale and Ryan Smith in the halves.

The other permanent capture is Mark Thomas, who is making the step up from amateur club Salford City Roosters. Thomas has had a crack at semi-professional level previously, though, as he spent 2014 with Swinton Lions in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Harry Aaronson has joined Crusaders on loan until the end of the 2016 season from Swinton. Jordan Andrade and Liam Bent, who have both already featured for North Wales this term on dual-registration from Salford Red Devils, have also signed loan deals.

All five players are in contention to play in the Welsh derby against South Wales Scorpions at Chester RUFC on Saturday.
