Nyle Flynn fixed for another Batley Bulldogs campaign

BATLEY BULLDOGS are happy to have fans’ favourite Nyle Flynn on board for a seventh season.

And coach James Ford will be hoping the secondrow who is sponsored by the group who organise supporters’ travel to away games can help drive his team on in 2027.

Flynn, 29, featured 25 times this year as the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium side finished tenth before elimination in the first stage of the play-offs.

In all he has made 139 appearances for Batley, where both his father Adrian, a winger, and uncle Wayne, a centre or loose-forward, had playing stints.

Nyle Flynn was signed for Batley by then-coach Craig Lingard ahead of the 2021 season, having previously been at Hunslet.

The following year the Dewsbury Celtic junior product who spent time in the development systems of both Huddersfield and Leeds was farmed out to Oldham, then of League One, to help develop his game.

He returned to help Lingard’s charges reach that season’s Championship Grand Final, where they lost 44-12 at Leigh, and has since become a fixture in a side subsequently coached by Mark Moxon and John Kear before Ford’s arrival twelve months ago.

“We are thrilled to confirm Nyle Flynn has extended his stay for another season,” said the club.

“A true mainstay of the squad, he has cemented himself in the Batley culture and he is not going anywhere.

“A massive thank you to Batley Independent Away Travel for their continued sponsorship of Nyle.”

Flynn’s contract extension followed those for hooker Jonah Parsons and halfback Mitch Beedle, who will go into their third and second seasons respectively.

Batley have also signed hooker Cam Berry from Hunslet, where he has spent the last three seasons. The 25-year-old started out at Bradford.
