Owain Abel joins Welsh trio in signing new Salford deals

SALFORD have retained a trio of forwards in Charlie Glover, Finley Yates and Sam Bowring as their squad for 2027 continues to come together.

All three are in the Wales pool named ahead of the forthcoming clash with USA in Merthyr, while back Owain Abel has also penned a one-year extension.

Glover and Yates both played for the previous version of the club in Super League while seasoned campaigner Bowring was a March addition from Midlands after a three-match loan stint.

The Hull-born 35-year-old started out in the senior game in 2014 at Gateshead, who became Newcastle the season after, and was at Coventry when they became Midlands for 2022.

“From the moment I arrived, I felt the passion and belief that makes Salford special,” said Bowring, who had 13 Salford outings in all this year.

Former North Wales playmaker Abel joined in May and made eight appearances, scoring three tries.
