Powell waiting to see if his questions are answered

Castleford Tigers coach, Daryl Powell has commented that although he didn’t have much to say to his players, following their defeat to Hull last week, he is waiting to see if the questions he posed to his squad will be answered this Sunday.

Powell’s men will be aiming to bounce back from a first defeat in six, by beating local rivals Wakefield, and a win has the potential to move the Tigers into the top four – depending on Huddersfield’s result against the Catalans.

But the words he did say on Sunday involved some challenging,  Powell admits.

“You don’t need to say too much to them.  I had a few words after the game – which some of them disagreed with me on, because I challenged them – but we will see this Sunday whether those questions I asked will be answered against Wakefield.

“It will be a tough game.  We have never had it our own way against Wakefield and they’ve got plenty of smart players; they’re playing with freedom at the moment so it’s a challenge.”
