HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS’ director of change Ralph Rimmer insists that the future looks promising for his club, now that it has left Accu Stadium in the town and moved into Dewsbury’s FLAIR Stadium, where work is currently being undertaken to upgrade the stadium for Super League next year.
Rimmer, who was appointed in December last year, has played a key role in the Giants’ relocation plans as well as in appointing their coach Jim Lenihan, who joined the Giants in May, replacing previous coach Luke Robinson.
“What a year so far,” Rimmer posted on social media site LinkedIn. “I’ve heard it described as a rollercoaster, but in truth, it is not.
“There have certainly been some tough times, but primarily it has been a year of change, both on and off the field of play, which has resulted in a new direction, a lot of energy within the club and, with that, a confidence restored.”
For much of the season the Giants occupied bottom place in the Super League table, but a late surge in form saw them rise to twelfth place by the end of the regular season.
“Undoubtedly, Jim Lenihan has been a catalyst within that work and has been a brilliant signing,” said Rimmer.
“It has been an upward trajectory and one that we intend to continue.
“So we now open the book on our next chapter as the Giants’ wave of momentum continues to grow. We begin our 2027 campaign on our new stage and suddenly with a degree of expectation, which we relish.”
