Leeds Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington has allegedly urged his fellow Super League bosses to try block disgraced NRL star Todd Carney’s move to Catalan Dragons.
The Australian, who was sacked by Cronulla Sharks in June after an inappropriate photo of him went viral, signed a three-year deal with the Dragons recently but the contract is yet to be approved by the RFL.
A report by The Sun’s Gary Carter claims Hetherington sent an email to the heads of his rival clubs that said: ”We’d be appalled if his application was granted because it would damage the integrity and profile of Super League.”
