Robins offer new deals

Hull Kingston Rovers have offered new deals to three of their key players.

Adam Quinlan, Ben Crooks and Matt Parcell have all received new contracts from the club as it begins the retention process heading towards 2021.

The Robins have eleven players off-contract at the end of the season and have been giving those players a chance to impress since the Super League restart.

But they’ve already seen enough from the aforementioned trio to offer them new contracts beyond the end of the current campaign.

Crooks, who recently suffered a calf injury that will keep him out until October, was Super League’s top try-scorer pre-lockdown and crossed in their return game against Warrington.

Livewire fullback Quinlan has been a regular under Tony Smith since recovering from injury and told League Express earlier this month he was keen to remain at the club next year.

Parcell joined the club from Leeds last year, where he won a Grand Final, and he fits Tony Smith’s plans for the team moving forward.

One player understood to be on the way out of the club is Jamie Ellis, who is believed to be closing in on a move to Championship side Leigh Centurions next season.

Ellis is one of the eleven off-contract players, but it appears he is close to fixing up his plans for next year away from Craven Park.

A hamstring injury has troubled him ever since starting his second spell with the Robins earlier this year.
