Ryan Carr praises Toulouse Olympique star as Castleford Tigers winger remains out

CASTLEFORD TIGERS will still be without winger Mikaele Ravalawa for this weekend’s clash against Toulouse Olympique.

The former St George Illawarra Dragons man is still out with a knee injury, but the Tigers’ squad will look the healthies it has been at any point during the 2026 Super League season.

“We’ve got to create squad depth where we have competition for spots each week and that’s where the healthy teams are,” Carr said.

“We haven’t had that as a club for a few years now. When someone has been out it’s been hard to fill but we’re getting to a point where we’re getting good players playing against good players in training.

“Mikaele is still recovering from a knee issue so it’s week to week.”

Ahead of Castleford’s fixture against Toulouse Olympique on Saturday, Carr pointed to the danger of Olly Ashall-Bott, who has excelled at fullback for the newly-promoted side in 2026.

“He’s having a great year, I’ve watched a lot of footage on him the last week.

“He’s a really damaging playmaker in the competition, from a fan’s point of view, he’s great to watch as he brings excitement.

“He’s deceptively strong and uses his body well. He’s in the form of his career so far.”
