RYAN CARR was overjoyed with Castleford Tigers’ 36-34 win over Leeds Rhinos.
The Tigers rallied from 30-16 down to clinch an unlikely victory and coach Carr said: “It was unreal, it was a big win for us.
“With what we’d been through (in) the week and during the game, to be able to find a way to win against the best team in the competition was unreal.
“They are well-drilled with good players and we won on effort today.
“Louis Senior had concussion symptoms after Thursday, we moved Alex Mellor to centre. I rang Jack Brown on our day off and said he would be in the back-row.
“I told Semi Valemei that he was going from the left to the right and during the game Ashton Golding’s hamstring tightened up and we put Jack Ashworth on the right.
“George Lawler had a groin injury and toughed it out today and had an injection. Even busted, he put his hand up to go back out again.
“Liam Hood’s ankle is busted. I know how much pain he is in but he still wanted to play.
“I love that about him, and how much the club means to them.”
Carr also explained that Krystian Mapapalangi and Jordan Lane didn’t play due to minor injuries.
“We knew Maps (Mapapalangi) was struggling and we know what it is,” he said.
“We are on the way to fixing that up. We’ve got a short turnaround against Wakefield on Friday night.
“We are confident we can get him back, and likewise with Jordan Lane.
“Joe Westerman was in contention, he is back (fit) from his head knock.”
