Batley Bulldogs and Sheffield Eagles pre-season game postponed

BATLEY BULLDOGS’ home tie with Sheffield Eagles has become the second of this weekend’s pre-season games to be postponed.

Adverse weather conditions led to concerns over both the pitch and terraces at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium, with the decision to call off the Sunday clash made early on Friday morning.

It follows the cancellation of Castleford Tigers’ match against Oldham, which was due to take place at the OneBore Stadium on Saturday.

As it stands, nine other pre-season fixtures are still going ahead, starting with Friday’s game between Warrington Wolves and Widnes Vikings.

The Challenge Cup first round also has its first victim, with Rochdale Mayfield’s game against Ince Rose Bridge postponed.

That’s led the BBC to change its planned iPlayer streaming coverage, with Thatto Heath Crusaders’ home match against Seaton Rangers to be shown instead.
