SYLVAIN HOULES was very disappointed by Toulouse Olympique’s meek 40-16 defeat to Leigh Leopards in 40C heat at Stade Ernest Wallon.
“It was not a great day from us,” said the head coach.
“In difficult conditions (we had) bad handling with too many errors where we gave away cheap possession and gifted them tries. It’s difficult to get into the game when you don’t have possession.
“The stats tell the story, we had ten successful completions to their 23 so it’s not difficult to see why they were on top.
“It was a very disappointing performance but they are a very good side and we are not up to their level.
“They combined well offensively which we failed to do, just giving them too much ball.
“We allowed them to score 18 points from our bad organisation so we need to play better collectively.
“The conditions were tough but the officials handled the situation well with plenty of water breaks plus stops during the game and between tries.
“It was not easy, but unfortunately we didn’t have much say about when the game was played.
“It’s another tough game next weekend with the Magic Weekend (playing Catalans Dragons in Castres) but hopefully we should get some players back from injury which will help.”
