St Helens got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over London Broncos at Langtree Park last night.
Saints took the lead after five minutes when Jon Wilkin kicked to the line and Matty Dawson touched the ball down, with Luke Walsh converting.
Five minutes later Walsh doubled Saints’ lead when he scored his own converted try.
Saints then added two further tries from Jonny Lomax and Tommy Makinson, the latter coming from a superb disguise pass from Walsh to Lomax, although Walsh was unable to convert either try.
London completed the first half scoring, however, when Ben Farrar created a try on the left for Denny Solomona, which Josh Drinkwater converted from the touchline.
Saints were the first to score in the second half when Lance Hohaia, restored to the team after being dropped for Saints’ Challenge Cup defeat at Leeds, touched down.
That was followed by an Adam Swift try before Thomas Minns scored for London to make the score 30-12 after 50 minutes.
Joe Greenwood, Josh Jones and Mark Flanagan scored further tries for St Helens, with Mike Bishay pulling a try back for London to make the final score 48-18.
