Wigan suffered a third straight defeat as a Ben Jones-Bishop double helped Wakefield to a 32-16 win.
Trinity did the bulk of the damage in the first-half as they established a 14-6 lead, with Jones-Bishop and Bill Tupou scoring.
Gabe Hamlin responded for the Warriors just before the break to give them a lifeline, but Jones-Bishop scored a 90-metre intercept early in the second-half.
Tom Johnstone’s try extended the lead to 26-6, although quickfire tries through Tom Davies and Morgan Escare offered Wigan a late fightback.
But the impressive Pauli Pauli scored late on to ensure Wakefield came home with the points.
