WHITEHAVEN halfback Ciaran Walker can’t wait for next season after the “most enjoyable” of his five so far in the professional game.
The 23-year-old headed to Haven twelve months ago, reuniting with Anthony Murray, who had coached him during two of his four campaigns at Workington.
Murray might have stood down at the Ortus REC in March, but Seaton Rangers product Walker. who was the League One Player of the Year in 2023, has flourished under the guidance of his successor James Newton.
He penned a contract extension to the end of 2027 in July, and completed a campaign which was highly encouraging for the Cumbrian club by making his 25th appearance, and scoring the last of his 13 league tries, in the 36-4 play-off eliminator defeat by Midlands in Birmingham.
Haven won six of their last eight regular-season matches, and Walker, who kicked 85 league goals, said: “It’s been the most enjoyable year I’ve had playing Rugby League. I can’t wait for next season and to represent this club again.”
