NOAH HODKINSON will likely miss the rest of the season after Wigan Warriors boss Matt Peet confirmed the outside back has torn his quad.
Hodkinson suffered the injury in Wigan’s big win over Toulouse Olympique last Saturday.
It would be a disappointing end to an impressive breakthrough campaign in which the 20-year-old has scored 15 tries in 14 games, playing either at fullback or on the wing.
But the Warriors will welcome back centres Adam Keighran (groin) and Jake Wardle for this Saturday’s clash with Bradford Bulls.
“Noah had a scan on his quad after the game and will likely miss the rest of the season,” Peet said.
“He pulled up tight during the game but the scan has revealed a serious tear.
“Adam Keighran and Jake Wardle are good to go, but (back-rowers) Junior Nsemba and Liam Farrell still have a couple of weeks to go.”
Ahead of the clash at Bradford, Peet has adapted training to suit the shorter Odsal pitch.
“Most teams would do,” he said. “It’s probably the most unique game of the year in that sense, but we just see it as another opportunity and test along the way.
“We have addressed it in training sessions. It’s important that we adapt and be aware of it and be as best prepared as we can.
“That’s our job as a staff, to prepare our players for what’s to come.
“Each ground brings up its challenges and this is one of the more different challenges.”
