York Knights man Brad Ward makes Newcastle Thunder move

YORK KNIGHTS player Brad Ward has signed for Newcastle Thunder.

Ward registered 12 tries in 33 appearances for the Knights before moving to Thunder on loan during the 2025 League One campaign.

All in all, the 22-year-old has scored three tries in 12 appearances for the north east club and has now signed a permanent deal.

Newcastle head xoach Graham Steadman said on signing Ward: “Brad has a great attitude and ambition, which were key factors in his signing.

“We believe Brad aligns perfectly with the club’s long-term vision and culture, as we continue to develop both established players and emerging talent.

“In his time with Thunder in 2025 Brad proved he has what it takes to compete at this level.”
