  1. Same as in the NRL, one club has a bye weekend then.
  2. Going to 15 teams then cos they aren’t relegating anyone.
  3. I’ve no fear of York getting binned off from SL at all, we’re here to stay. I certainly aren’t hoping for any drama with other clubs to save us that’s for sure. If it was up to me we’d have 15 clubs in their own towns, all doing well with another 4 or 5 Championship clubs pushing for SL, I just don’t think a club who has already merged with another to save their skin doing yet another job on a fellow club to save their skin is acceptable and I can’t see why any Dewsbury fan is happy about it, but each to their own.
  4. I'm talking about new fans and growing Dewsbury as a Rugby League club. How many young kids in the area are going to choose the Rams over the SL club who have moved in, it doesn't seem like some clubs are bothered about the future of the game, more interest in how many people you can get into the bar and buy some pies. You lot were going spare saying that Newcastle had no hope now because of York (despite us taking nothing from them) and now you're delighted cos Ken Davy is fitting you some new sprinklers and your car boot sale is the envy of the world.
  5. A future as a car boot sale host rather than a Rugby League club, but if you're happy with the best car boot for miles around then good for you. No way on earth Dewsbury will be able to attract any new fans to watch them now, why would anyone go watch Championship RL in the exact same place they can watch SL?
  6. I don't think you can in any way compare the two scenarios as Newcastle had literally nothing to lose. No ground, no history, no future and barely any fans. Dewsbury at least had a ground and some history.
  7. I think it's worse. Dewsbury have invited a club with known parasitic tendencies to live in their house. May as well just pack in really.
  8. When we re-signed BJB I wondered what on earth they were doing and we had never heard of Scott Galeano or Toa Mata’afa, Ata Hingano was too injury prone and David Nofoaluma was just a has-been, don't get me started on Xavier Va'a who Wakefield turned down due to risk of head knocks or Paul Vaughan who was just topping up his pension before going home...All now club legends who plenty of people were doubting. If the people who've got us this far think a player like Hastings, Clune or Sezer are right for the club then I'll take their word for it. Us lot don't know what we're on about.
  9. And the people of Dewsbury can go watch SL rugby in their own town, probably cheaper than watching the Rams play in the Championship once the free tickets and cut price season tickets come out to try and persuade the people of Huddersfield to travel.
  10. Great that they moved the fixture meaning loads of fans had to either change weekend plans or miss the game entirely, then put it on Sky Sports + red button. Brilliant that.
  11. He'll be thrilled to announce pushing the envelope and unleashing some key learnings while leaning into the discomforts about the strategic manoeuvre, no doubt.
  12. Gutted he's retiring, would have like to see what we can do with him surrounded by better players. He's been massive for York this year, and while we certainly aren't a one man team I've no doubt without him we'd have been bottom of the league ages ago. Some big boots to fill for whoever is replacing him, although Jack Martin & Xavier Va'a are much better players from his influence.
  13. Proper ref him, best in the game.
  14. Now there’s definitely nothing negative about a York for them all to get excited about, may as well lock it as it’s just descended into arguing about IMG anyway.
  15. I’ve heard a few people say Will Tate is on his way to York.
