I never said it was, I fully agree that it takes more. But we've had 6 months and increased our crowds to a 5800 average when less that 10 years ago we were getting 500, so it might be a good idea to give things time to grow in all aspects of the club.

My point is you're comparing York with Salford, Huddersfield and London when they had years to build their businesses as a full time entity. It's so much easier to get money from sponsors, investors and supporters when you're playing Leeds, Wigan etc every week than Dewsbury & Batley. Similarly things go wrong much faster when you've got a full time wage bill. Even things like the entry fee, we're charging £25 where other SL clubs are charging £30. If we charged that there's a potential £40k extra at every home match, but we couldn't increase the price in year one as it would be too much of a rise from last season and everyone would have complained. There's loads of issues with being a new full time club and most take time to iron out and cash flow will be one of the insues. Same as any business that expands.

I know I'm terribly biased but the fact is 4 young English players have made their Super League debut this year off the back of the Newcastle partnership. Already it's doing much more to give young English players an avenue to SL than the vast majority of clubs in the Championship and some SL clubs are doing. Don't see that mentioned anywhere near as much as the fact they use a York Pullman coach to get to games.

It was a light hearted dig at the attendance police, but if you want some facts our average is over 10x what it was 10 years ago and we’re playing in a nice new stadium with excellent facilities. That’s growing the game.

Anyone had a whinge about the crowd? More at York the other week and we’ve got no fans or money apparently. Pretty poor for such a big club etc etc. Kick them out and replace them with Widnes.

They did and you know they did, it's there in the article with a quote from the owner. You can have cash flow issues and be a sound business. Doesn't mean you're broke. It's obviously not ideal but from the people I've spoken to they insist it'll be fine, so I'm not overly concerned now. Hopefully this isn't too disappointing for some.

Other clubs aren't going to give up a penny, literally every club is struggling and has cash flow issues, as are most businesses. This has only become newsworthy because we're the new boys and there's people out there desperate to knock us down to make their club look better. As an aside, went to buy a ticket for tonight and noticed it's £30 to get in, we only charged Cas £25 to sit in a nice stadium. Rough maths but if we charged to same price to get in as some other clubs are charging us, we'd have another £40k in the pot by now. Needs looking at for next season if other SL clubs are charging it then we should be too, no point giving them a cheaper day out when they wouldn't pee on us in we were on fire...

I’ve seen all this multiple times in RL over the years and it very rarely ends well, I just hope it’s sorted out without it being too painful, cos if it all goes belly up for my club I certainly won’t be bothering with the sport anymore, what’s the point?
