I know what you mean but I think two refs plus assistants should be making the correct onfield call. It wasn't even difficult. We need to be open to refs making mistakes, it's part and parcel of all sport!

We got by without for 100yrs but its part n parcel of the game now. Cant see it changing

Even the Oz schoolboys are masters at fannying about at the PTB and getting away with it.

#3031663 RFL release embarrassing and delusional statement regarding Four Nations!

Posted by jacksy on 12 November 2014 - 11:55 AM

LF is right...The gallant losers title is for losers. It's about time we got back to accepting nothing but success in this Country. Too many are happy that we were close, for me that is not good enough. Can you imagine Murphy, Whiteley, Turner, Sullivan, Mills or Karalius being happy with 3rd in a four horse race.

I said McNamara was the wrong man for the job. He does not select the right players, tactics or even possess the ability to out think his opposite numbers. Psychology wise he misses opportunites to manipulate and pressurise the opposition and officials.

He has a terrible win/loss ratio and lets be honest his CV coach wise domestically is also very poor. How can he lead and inspire the English boys to the summit of the mountain.

As for the RFL, Ralph Rimmer et al..trying to turn another tournement defeat into some sort of victory, words fail me

Well he was playing HB with Eastmond in 2009 Tri Nations if i remember correctly they made a decent impression. Was he given enough time at Wigan to develop? Seems to me that he went to FB and then never got back in to the halves. Wigan preferring overseas players up until Smith came along. Apologies if i am wrong memory is not what it was.

Young Player of the year 2010 playing 6 at Wigan. Has England/GB been robbed of one of its greatest halves?

#3027577 Australia to never play outside Australia again?

Posted by jacksy on 05 November 2014 - 12:44 PM

Australia Rugby League have today suggested that they will never play outside of Australia again. The Australian side which could possibly miss out on this years Four Nations Final, which is currently scheduled to be played in Wellington on 15th November, made the startling announcement early this morning.

National Rugby League CEO Dave Smith explained further "We feel that rugby league at this level should be played using the best referees in the best stadia. Upon reviewing every single stadium used for rugby league throughout the world it was quickly apparent that the Australian ones are head and shoulders above the ones overseas. From the greenness of the grass to the quality of the hot dogs sold in the stands, our grounds are far superior. International rugby league should be about quality and fairness and we would be letting our players down if we made them play on the insufficient turfs they have abroad... (read more)

When asked about the announcement, New Zealand Director of Operations Scott Carter told us the following, "I haven't seen the statement yet but I wholeheartedly agree with it, completely."

At this stage it is unclear how this will affect this years Four Nations Final, which could still feature Australia, but early reports suggest that if the World Champions qualify it will relocate to Sydney.

In further rugby league news, Australia will wear a commemorative shirt for their decisive Four Nations clash with underdogs Samoa. The black and white hooped shirt which remembers the historic victory over England in the 2014 Four Nations tournament, will come with a brown "swag" bag and a black eye mask.

I am still convinced that he is lacking in the team selection area, tactics and psychology.

I just hope we can all just apreciate how good England were and not start bagging players left right and centre

Only an idiot would bag any of the boys today...p.s. a performance like that in the final might have even took it.
