Thoughts on the appointment of one Australian-based coach to replace another?

 

I suppose if anyone could manage it it would be Wayne Bennett. But if we wanted an experienced top notch aussie coach doing the job part time it would have been better for them to be based in England...like Tim Sheens maybe, although my preference would have been for an Englishman.

I can`t see how this is going to work,Bennett living on t`other side of the world,but he wouldn`t have gone into it without due thought,so good luck to him and the England team,it`s about time the Old Dart could match it with the Aussies.

Given that Steve Mac has lived 'on t`other side of the world' as Roosters assistant coach for the last four years, I imagine it'll work much the same. I'm stoked at this news - he's a legend.

Yes,but McNamara knew all the players,Bennett,apart from Jack Reed,doesn`t. I guess he`ll be watching all the Super League on Fox Sports now!

and even with that knowledge, his achievements were limited to the series win over a vastly understength kiwi team.
