Hes a very good winger and I always liked him at Wigan. Hes been a better winger than Marshall or Miski. Obviously age is a factor these days though.

He wouldnt be close to getting picked anyway and I'd say Newcastle will be glad to get him off the payroll. He has been way off the last couple of years and certainly hasn't played at the level to justify his salary. You really dont want to be paying a huge salary to someone that misses as many games as he does.

I did hear the SL version has some scenario options where you pick options e.g When you play Catalans away, does the chairman: A) Act with decorum – Arrive in a suit, remain composed throughout, and represent the club with dignity. B) Act professionally – Network with officials, engage respectfully with the hosts, and attend the post-match meal. C) Try to blend in – Dress in club colours, mingle with fans, and quietly support from the stands. D) Get bladdered and dance like a clown during a live television interview with your coach.

The travesty is when we got £40 million a year we didnt actually use it to grow SL and go to 14. Instead we wasted it all on the middle 8s and propping up a couple of full time Championship clubs so they could dominate the Championship.

I think this is my worry with many prospective new clubs entering League 1. A club playing at some RU ground, or similar, just isn't going to be sustainable in the long run. Paying rent, not getting income from a clubhouse and generally being hamstrung is not constructive to ever being sustainable. Nor is it a situation where a club can ever really grow. Throw in being at the whim of your hosts, low crowds then paying players and it is pretty much doomed to failure. I absolutely support needing a League 1, or something similar, as a development league. We need something better though than the current hotchpotch of existing heartland clubs and new entrants. At the moment I dont think its really suiting anyone and doesnt set clubs up for success.

Whose this they? What serious attempts have ever been made to get RL played in those places? Any attempts that are ever made arent even sustained for long enough to have any meaningful impact anyway.

I completely disagree and this just isn't feasible at this moment in time. Let's also ignore that Super League is a European league, not a British one, and French teams were always planned to be part of it, and that actually 2 were initially. However let's go with your idea. What type of support are you talking about? Monetary, like the money Catalans currently get? Administration? Marketing?

I've been really impressed with Hodgson. I wouldn't think of shifting him for anyone if he keeps playing the way he has done.
