Rochdale Hornets sign Jamaica forward

ROCHDALE HORNETS have bolstered their forward pack with the signing of Jamaica international back-rower Isaac Coleman.

The former Bradford Bulls academy man played in the World Cup qualifying defeat to Wales in 2024.

He also represented England Students while at the University of York, helping them win last year’s Four Nations.

Coleman went on to lift further silverware by contributing to East Leeds’ unbeaten National Conference League Division Two campaign.

That led to a trial with Rochdale, and after signing a one-year deal he could make his debut in the Challenge Cup third round on Sunday when Wigan Warriors visit the Crown Oil Arena.

Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “Isaac has been part of the group throughout pre-season on trial, and has impressed (head coach) Gary Thornton and his staff with his hard work and attitude.

“He’s an explosive ball-carrier and has most definitely earned his contract with us.

“I know Isaac will be looking to take his opportunity when it comes.”
