CASTLEFORD TIGERS will avoid the repeat of their travel mistakes suffered earlier in the year when they head for Perpignan for this Saturday’s clash.
The Tigers went down 24-10 to Toulouse Olympique in February, but they faced a 13-hour journey to get there and then a 12-and-a-half-hour trip home, in both cases flying via Germany.
There will be no repeat of that this weekend when the Tigers travel to Catalans Dragons, with head coach Ryan Carr detailing what the club is doing differently this time around.
“We’re going straight from Leeds to Perpignan on Thursday which allows us to have our best preparation to play well,” Carr said.
“Our original was to go via somewhere and then have a two-hour bus ride but we’ve avoided that.
“We are grateful to the club for that, we’ve got to ensure we maximise our preparation to play well.”
In terms of team changes, Brock Greacen will be out after failing his HIA in the 24-14 loss to Leigh Leopards last Friday, but George Hirst could return from his ban.
“George had a head knock and got suspended for two games so he is excited to come back in to the frame,” said Carr.
“Jack Brown could make his debut.”
