Super League boss confirms end of talks with Wests Tigers prop

LEEDS RHINOS head coach Brad Arthur has confirmed that he is no longer chasing Wests Tigers prop Royce Hunt.

Last month, the Rhinos were linked with Hunt by the Australian media, with Arthur revealing that the 30-year-old had held talks with the Headingley outfit.

However, the prop has since suffered a pectoral muscle injury which is expected to end his 2026 NRL season.

In his weekly pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ clash with Warrington Wolves tomorrow night, Arthur confirmed that Hunt is no longer in the Rhinos’ sights.

“The talks with Royce have dropped off,” Arthur professed.

“I think it (talks ended) happened before that (his pec injury.”

It is set to be an off-season of replacing key players for the Rhinos with Harry Newman, Brodie Croft, Mikolaj Oledzki, James McDonnell and Cameron Smith all leaving Headingley at the end of the 2026 campaign.

All five are regular first-team players for the Rhinos, but no new blood has been announced as of yet for 2027.
