HUNSLET coach Kyle Trout reckons youthful addition Ben Johnson will be a good match for the style of play he wants to see next term.
Trout is keen to develop their adventurous attacking brand in his second full season at the helm.
Johnson, the 20-year-old who recently joined from Hull FC, played once on loan with Hunslet this year, at centre in a 48-0 defeat to Widnes Vikings.
“Even in the one game we saw him play last year, he showed glimpses of what he’s capable of,” said Trout.
“He’s got real skill, excellent vision and a natural understanding of the game.
“He has the ability to spot opportunities, create something out of nothing and make things happen with the ball in hand.
“That fits perfectly with the style of rugby we want to play.”
