RYAN CARR admitted Castleford Tigers conceded too many points to claim victory at Catalans Dragons.
But the head coach said defence in itself wasn’t the major issue in their 34-28 defeat.
“You can’t concede 34 points and expect to win,” said Carr.
“Possession was 60-40 (to Catalans) for the majority of the game and when it swung back, we started to score our points, but I felt there was a few moments that cost us.
“I thought we defended really well today – I know we conceded a few points but I felt that we tackled as well as we’ve tackled in a long time and I thought our line speed and intent was great.
“But when you’re on halfway and you’re about to get the ball back and you give away a penalty for a ball strip, that’s unacceptable at this level.
“Good teams are going to punish you and that is what happened to us tonight.”
