DEWSBURY RAMS have released Dave Benson from his contract.
Benson initially joined Dewsbury on trial from Kippax Welfare last August and trained with Paul March’s side in the final weeks of the season.
He did enough to earn a deal for 2026 and appeared in the Rams’ Boxing Day pre-season defeat to Batley Bulldogs.
But the hooker has now left to return to the amateur game, according to the club, without playing a competitive match.
