  1. Doncaster will likely struggle in Championship by only bringing in 5 players. This is just what Keighley did last year. I know they were our boggy team last treat but generally they didn’t set the league on fire. They had some very tight matches over the season. They paid big money to bring in the three overseas players for the playoffs which worked but that team wouldn’t have won many matches in the Championship. On promotion, unless you have already built a team for that league (like Oldham are doing) the mix should be the opposite, ie retain 4/5 and add 20 of a higher calibre
  2. I think what London have done is amazing to be honest.
  3. Problem with this IMG stuff in my opinion is the range back over three years. It doesn’t aid clubs who are able to better themselves. so if I have understood this correctly the led boards would only give us .25 points x 1/3 for next year.
  4. Kind words indeed, let’s hope we can. When the new board took over in March, they said a return to SL was the eventual plan and wanted to achieve in 5:6 years. The key to it was growing year on year and developing the club from the bottom up. They were fully aware of IMG and had already been in talks with the RFL to see what they had to do. Bear in mind that IMGs model is historically based so it will take the club another two years to see much improvement in grading other than getting on the grade B ladder
  5. It gave us .25 points, but that may have been diluted by 2/3 as it is historical over three years
  6. There are two metrics. One is getting off field matters put right, the other is onfield performance. If we don’t get promotion by winning them league then we won’t be on next year’s championship which is now a must
  7. My thoughts would be RFL Premiership RFL Championship 1 RFL Championship 2 Just for consistency
  8. As these gradings are historical over over 36 months then yes. But I would imagine that after much decline in the past two years plus a very minimal existence in L1 or whatever in 2024 then their score would likely plummet Likewise many other scores will change over this coming season as clubs work on weak areas. As much as IMG is disliked by many (and I think they have got the P & R thing totally wrong) if all this forces clubs to target improvements then this must surely be good for the game. However, maybe the historical data for years 1 & 2 should be weighted, otherwise we are not really going to reward progress, but instead uphold previous failings. As it stands it takes three years to show any progress, but a club suddenly being managed badly would not show show up and arm bells that should be ringing wouldn't be heard? I also think the fandom metrics need looking at. Just looking at postcodes is not the right way.
  9. Great decision. The clubs name now reflects its true history
  10. IMG have already stated yesterday about moving to a 14 team SL sooner rather than later
  11. New statement on the website from Bill explains the process of recruiting Sean https://roughyeds.co.uk/2023/10/welcome-to-our-new-head-coach/ I love the transparency from the club and Directors..
  12. I can't get my head around why clubs are prevented from having an academy. It is things like this this that hold the game back. Lets get as many kids as possible into the pro set up and see if to reaps further rewards. Hey but, thinking about to, maybe better to spend money on an LED advertising board! Only In Rugby League in the UK!
  13. We all have our opinions and reasons.
  14. The grading is over three years, so given the new management have only had 6 months this is a result. We missed grade B by a whisker.
  15. Sorry not looking for an argument. I agree next year to be merged. I just want the best for the game.
  16. Punished for the years of neglect by CH
