  1. I think that if Mike Fords point. If you read the article in full he says the RFL and the game as a whole should have been helping the development clubs rather than letting them collapse.
  2. Interesting comment by Oldhams MD Mike Ford ahead of last week’s meeting “ Ford said it was time to put club interests on the back burner and to vote for the game’s welfare, to such an extent that clubs should be prepared to help each other. We are all in this together. And while we can all find reasons to put our own club first, we need to vote for whatever option is considered best for the game as a whole. We’ve discussed this at board level and it’s the board’s view as well as mine.“
  3. No, took the reigns temporarily, but is far too busy running the club as MD.
  4. Reported on the Rochdale forum that there are 5 scenarios under consideration. One is 4 SL reserves to join L1. I despair the mentality of the people running the game.
  5. Ridiculous suggestion to be honest. Once again the selfish clubs in SL seem to want it all their own way.
  6. They should be told to restart in 2025 if they want to. It now put all planning in limbo.
  7. I said in another thread that there seems to be a total news blackout. Sounds like nothing is resolved. I also think the ridiculous idea to start a new Newcastle club from scratch had thrown a spanner in the works.
  8. I wonder whether talks continue? I have checked all of the forums and club websites and no mention of the meeting. Looks like a news black out
  9. The statement says “trying” tThey have meeting planned for next week? It just isn’t fair on existing clubs trying to plan for next season.
  10. It smells of the west Wales mess last year. Personally I would make them regroup for 2025 and ensure they are fully prepared.
  11. I thought he was one of the names mentioned early on in this thread
  12. I think once the players are in place there will be great opportunities for written and video interviews, like meet the players.
  13. I saw on the Widnes forum a few weeks ago he was rumoured to go there
  14. Common sense say two leagues. 16 in SL and 16-18 (depending on how many get through the year) in the Championship. 30 games and 30 or 32 and no loop fixtures. More income as well
  15. Good time to be an Oldham fan at the moment.
  16. They wouldn't. The community game in Oldham is very strong and quite resurgent. Sadly it was neglected by the club during the Hamilton era with a massive wedge driven on which went wider and wider. The club lost many fans because of it it. Thankfully, the relationship between the new owners (Mike Ford et al) and the community clubs is now very healthy and there are plenty of initiatives going on at the moment. This includes schools RL as well. The club are working with the club and not against them.
  17. them there is something seriously wrong with the set up at that club.
  18. But they wouldn't as in a conference system they would be guaranteed their derby matches. But keep the status quo this year and two will go down. What would the change in attitude be if it was say Fev & Bradford?
  19. Totally selfish set of clubs. Only concerned about themselves and not the game as a whole (similar attitudes exist in SL as well). Just imagine Fev chairman reduces his funding as they can't see a way into SL. The team get off to a bad start, confidence low, and find themselves in the lower reaches. Disaster, they get relegated to next years L1. I wonder want they and their fan would be saying then?
  20. Note signings tomorrow according to the web site, so guessing coach maybe Friday?
  21. Adam Lawton just announced. He is huge. We will have a very big and mobile pack this year. Something we have always been missing
